Spot versus perpetual price gaps
A perpetual contract can trade away from spot. MatrixLink shows the size and direction of the basis across venues so a divergence can be evaluated before entry.
- current basis per coin in percent;
- liquidity on both spot and futures markets;
- opening and closing fees for both legs;
- quote age at display time.
The link to funding rates
A persistent basis is usually offset by the funding rate: holding a hedged position earns or pays periodic settlements. A route estimate without funding is incomplete — see the funding analytics section for details.

Frequently asked questions
Is a spot-perp basis a guaranteed yield?
No. The basis can widen, funding can flip sign, and a hedged position still carries liquidation and partial-fill risk.
Why does liquidity on both markets matter?
A thin futures book raises entry and exit slippage and can consume the estimated edge of the basis.
