Live order books

Live order books for both legs of a route

Instead of a single spread number, MatrixLink opens both books side by side: you see how much liquidity sits at each level, in dollars, and how fresh the data is. Decisions rest on executable size, not the top price.

What the live book shows

Both legs of the route render at once: the buy side on one exchange and the sell side on the other, updating in real time.

  • price levels with dollar volume at each;
  • cumulative depth against the working size;
  • quote age and last update time;
  • gaps between levels as a thinness signal.

Why top-of-book is not enough

The best price may hold only tens of dollars while the rest of the liquidity sits far worse. The live book shows the average price your size would actually fill at and how much of it is available at all.

Frequently asked questions

How is a live book better than a depth snapshot?

A snapshot goes stale instantly; a live stream shows cancellations and new orders, with data age visible in the interface.

Does displayed liquidity guarantee a fill?

No. Limit orders can be cancelled before yours arrives; the book is the best available estimate, not reserved volume.
